The weather has finally caught up with the calendar, so it finally feels like fall in central Ohio. It's time for one final post of the birds of summer.
Early this summer it was clear the Downy Woodpeckers were alternating trips to the feeders as they raised a brood.
The Northern Mockingbirds are the most territorial in our yard.
I suspect this Northern Cardinal is "breaking the 4th wall" because he heard my camera shutter.
The past few summers we have really enjoyed the Baltimore Orioles, which previously did not frequent our feeders.
The Blue Jays really, really like the seeds and nuts.
We rarely see Redheaded Woodpeckers because we've lost some mature trees from the yard. The few Redheads that do visit are most appreciated.
